Yawn

Tonight Hayley slipped in the tub. She was sitting there and abruptly decided that she wanted to move elsewhere. Her butt slid and she bonked her head (not hard, luckily) on the back of the tub and slipped under the water for a split second. She was actually able to get herself back up before I even reached out for her but the shock made her cry. She also spat out a mouthful of water and coughed and gagged for a moment. I grabbed her out of the tub and held her until she calmed down. Then she actually started waving at the tub and reaching for it because she wanted back in.

Uh no. Bath time is over. Mama can only take one heart-stopping moment per evening, thanks anyway. Sheesh.

Hayley is killing me. I haven't been this tired since she was a newborn. I remember a few occasions back in those early weeks and months, where I would just break down in tears because I was so ridiculously tired. One night George had a practice and I was so exhausted that I burst into tears and he ended up taking me to his parents' house so that I could take a nap while they watched her.

These days, I don't want to go to his parents' house for a nap. These days I'm so bloody tired that I'd much rather check myself into a hospital for a day or two so that I can get some decent sleep.

I'm just kidding. Mostly. But some days it's tempting, especially since she was up at 11:20 pm, 1:30 am, and then from 4:15 to 6 am. Gah!

Oh well, with my luck my hospital roommate would snore loudly anyway.

So how long CAN you go on with broken, crap-quality sleep anyway?

I wish there was more interesting stuff that I could write, but frankly I don't have much to say today. I dragged around, played with Hayley a lot, did some housework, put up some more decorations, and not much else.

Here are some pictures instead.

taking a break
For some reason, Hayley likes to sit on the box under my desk that I use as a footstool. I don't mind, though I have to keep a close eye on her to make sure that she doesn't suddenly power down my computer (which has happened many times!).

ooh! sour!
Hayley was begging for the dill pickle that I was eating with my supper. I gave her a very tiny piece, expecting her to spit it out. She made some weird faces such as the above (blurry because of no flash), but she loved it. They're too salty for her though, so one taste was all she got.
