First pictures

One year ago today, I saw my daughter for the first time. She looked like this:

wave

That was when we found out that she was, in fact, a "she". That was when we chose her name (well, names, since she has two middle names too). That was when it was surreal - even more exciting than hearing the heartbeat.

I wanted a baby. I wanted the baby to be healthy. But I was so happy it was going to be a girl.

A whole year after her "first picture", she now looks like this:

unpacking

Yes, she's sitting in her suitcase. Don't ask, I don't know.

Sort of like I don't know how one year ago she was the size of a fruit, an apple maybe. Now she's so tall it's unbelievable. This is from Easter Sunday - look how tall she is!

Navigating the sands

This time last year I was so excited because I had seen my baby. I'm a lot more excited this year because I get to see her for real and interact with her. Amazing what a year can bring.
